Keeping up with your beauty regime doesn't have to be difficult while travelling. Ethical and time friendly options usually do exist but can be difficult to research. Here's what I found when in Valencia.

There's something about having a great manicure and pedicure that really lifts my confidence, even when I'm feeling a bit flat. When you are travelling it can be hard to keep up with your beauty regime and stay ethical. Add to that a language barrier and time restraints and you've got a nearly impossible situation.

I'm especially hard on my hands and feet so I love having shellac or gel nails and have found some great places that use vegan and cruelty free products in places I've lived. This usually comes about by doing some extensive research and asking people. While in Valencia, I didn't have my usual resources at my fingertips so I relied on what I could find on the internet and my very basic Spanish skills.

I stumbled across a place called Glow Nails Studio and decided to check out the products they used. CND (Creative Nail Design) use the Shellac brand and are apparently vegan and cruelty free (according to the studio's Facebook page). So I thought to give them a try!

I tried for a walk in appointment but the studio seems quite popular so I could only get an appointment the following day. The salon was clean and the staff were so friendly and accommodating in spite of my lack of language skills.

I got a manicure and a pedicure with shellac in a fresh pastel pink colour. Both manicure and pedicure focussed mainly on the cuticle work and then the colour application. They were efficient and professional but don't expect the full spa treatment here. This is a place for a girl on the run who values her time.

Overall I had a very pleasant experience at Glow Nails Studio and would recommend booking in advance for a quick and professional manicure and pedicure.

Are there any other cruelty free and vegan nail studios or salons that you would recommend in Valencia?

Edit: I have since found out that the CND brand may not be as vegan and cruelty free as I was lead to believe! Because they sell in China, they are required to test on animals. I'm keen to see if anyone has any further information on this to help with making informed choices!
